Why should you listen to me?Hello, and thank you for visiting Songwriting-Guide.com. I’m Tor Jakobsen, your songwriter guide - and I’d like to personally thank you for taking the time to check out the contents of this website.
Your first question might be, “Who is this guy and why should I listen to his songwriting lessons?” My answer is quite simple, I used to be like so many people out there, wanting to become a profesional songwriter - but didn't know where to start or how to approach this business. I made a decision. I should spend ten years learning the skills required to write songs at a profesional level. I read every book I came across, thousands of articles and went to every songwriting seminar I had the opportunity to attend. First there where many refusals, but as I learnd more and more about the business, things started to improve. After some time I did get my first publishing agreement, and the snowball started to roll. Today I make my living from writing songs, and I'm happier than I've ever been in my life. I have written songs for many different artists. I have also written music to several TV series and Movies. I am so grateful that I can make a good living from doing what I enjoy most in the world, writing music. In this site I will share the knowledge I have learnt over the years to help you fulfill your dreams about becomming a proffesional songwriter.
