Songwriting contests, a place to go?
You’ve got the lyrics and the melodies down. You know that your songs are bound to be major hits. But, as a budding songwriter, you’ve probably wondered how to get noticed.

Better Than Open Mic Nights
So who here has played an open mic night before? If you choose the right venue, you’ll find an audience of fellow musicians who will be supportive of your performance.

After all, they’re all doing the same thing. Opening themselves up to while on stage. They understand the leap that is required to go from hobby musician to performing musician. If you’re really lucky you’ll find somebody who has been doing this a lot longer than you and will give you some pointers.

Of course, for every one venue like that, there’s twenty others that are filled with people who just want to sit back and here a barrage of cover songs. A lot of these people have the philosophy that if they don’t recognize the tune, or don’t have a radio or TV station telling them a new song is good, then they don’t want to hear anything unfamiliar.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could somehow direct your new songs to an audience that understands music and understands just how hard it is to write a great song? Well, there’s a way, and its called a songwriting contest.
